Markus og Måneraketten (Markus and The Lunar Rocket) is a point and click adventure game about a kid called Markus, a lunar rocket and a very dangerous invention.

Markus and The Lunar Rocket is still in development by DigiPilot, so I can't give away too many details. The story starts with Markus entering a wreck yard, looking for spare parts for his gravity racer. He meets Boris, a guy who lives in the wreck yard, and they start developing a friendship. Things don't turn out quite the way Markus hoped for, and he soon enough finds himself on the adventure of his life.

Background

DigiPilot got a development grant from The Norwegian Film Institute's games fund to develop the prototype. We spent about three months prototyping the game, and it turned out to be a very valuable lesson. We learnt a lot about the game itself, and got to experiment with various ideas for the story, art style and technical options. Another thing we learnt was to cooperate. None of us had ever worked together before, so it was good to have this period where we could get to know each other without being in a production phase.

The result

Overall, we're quite happy with the result. We would like to explore more of the visuals and see how far we can push it. There's still work to be done on the puzzles, but the story is very rich and detailed, so we have a very good foundation to build upon.

Follow the development of the game on DigiPilot's Twitter account, and the DigiPilot website.
